In case you ever wondered, this is how every Marvin starts out: on a bunch of large paper sheets being drawn by hand (with a pen, not a pencil) by one of our lead designers (Sébastien Perret in this case). His handling of the pen is crisp, sharp and unhesitating. The sheer sound of it is awe-inspiring. He refuses to use pencil at all because, as he puts it, he doesn't want to be able to back out of what seem initially like "errors" because too often they turn out to be inspirational sideways to a new idea or concept. So everything gets recorded.
It is really amazing to watch this guy at work. I imagine it must have looked like this when Mozart composed new music on a whim.
