We feel pictures are worth a thousand words in this case. These were taken during his last two Elite Road races where he managed to come in 10th and 11th - and this is riding with seasoned professionals who do this for a living!
The one where his hands are up is taken as he's about to receive the National Champion jersey :) - Congrats Tom from everyone here at Marvin. You make us proud my friend.

Announcing our M103/107 Contest Winner!

The winner of our last ablogtoread giveaway bash is a member of the US Air Force stationed in Iraq....

The winner of our last
bash is a member of the US Air Force stationed in Iraq. His name is Richard, and here's his winning entry:
"I am actually a newbie to the whole watch thing. I usually just go for form and function. I look for great lume and simple functions, waterproofness and reliability is key. I tend to wear my watch all day, including gym, and sleeping...

I am in the US Air Force so I have limited funds. Most of my watches are imitations...I just ordered the Magrette Diver that was recently reviewed, (can’t wait to get home from Iraq in September to wear it). Anyway, I am learning about complications and movements and plan on maybe getting into the watch industry when I retire...Love the M107 BTW."
So thank you Richard for taking the time, and we hope you enjoy your
's form and function. It's always good to enter the industry with a rugged Valjoux 7750 strapped to your wrist! :)

Our
is scheduled for August 29th, where Team PROBIKEKIT is racing in Devon, UK.
Third generation French movie celebrity Alexandre Brasseur (son of Claude Brasseur and grandson of Pierre Brasseur) recently acquired one of our M103 Valjoux chronograph pieces. This was the first time Alexandre had ever heard of or even worn Marvin. Apparently, the watch was a hit with him, as one can infer from his comment:
"...thank you very much for the watch. I was surprised by its size initially, because I'm used to smaller cases. I am totally happy with it. This M103 chrono is a tasteful blend of classic and modern lines..."
Thank you Alexandre, and we wish you many years of enjoyment with your new Marvin!

Marvin on the Drawing Board

In case you ever wondered, this is how every Marvin starts out: on a bunch of large paper sheets...

In case you ever wondered, this is how every Marvin starts out: on a bunch of large paper sheets
(with a pen, not a pencil) by one of our lead designers (Sébastien Perret in this case). His handling of the pen is crisp, sharp and unhesitating. The sheer sound of it is awe-inspiring. He refuses to use pencil at all because, as he puts it, he doesn't want to be able to back out of what seem initially like "errors" because too often they turn out to be inspirational sideways to a new idea or concept. So everything gets recorded.
It is really amazing to watch this guy at work. I imagine it must have looked like this when Mozart composed new music on a whim.

Marvin Supports Folds of Honor

When one of our Facebook community members grabbed me two weeks ago and said "Hey Jerome, you...

When one of our
members grabbed me two weeks ago and said "Hey Jerome, you guys should look into this charity foundation", I went to work and did a little digging into
. I got in touch with Mike Herron by email and asked him to send me the salient points about the charity. Namely, precise examples of who they help, how and why. Mike pointed me to these links describing
,
, and
.
The concept is really simple. When our boy in uniform get killed or banged up in action, who has their back back home to take care of their remaining families and kids? Too often, the answer is simply "no one". So this foundation was established to make sure these families were taken care of educationally. As Marvin is big into the "family" concept, I thought this would be a great opportunity to pitch in and say "hey guys, thank you, we got your six".
We were happy to send out one of our rectangular
pieces to Mike for auction purposes, and hope this very tiny contribution will serve to help the families of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our Nation.
